Blue opal is a soft, semi-translucent opal in gentle sky blue shades, most commonly sourced from Peru. The Sanskrit name for opal, upala, simply means precious stone.

Meaning & Properties

Blue opal is a beautiful stone because its water content creates brilliant light reflections of magnificent colors inside. When you look into an opal, the fire and the colors are truly inspiring. It activates communication and works with anything related to water in the body: water retention, release of water, or attracting more water. Opal is also said to be good for the eyes, and traditionally helps you look at what you do not want to look at and remove the blind spots.
